No parking will be allowed at the park. Please park along the rail road tracks and walk to the park.

We had to make this change to meet DelDOT requirements.

The running world was hit hard today, but its only temporary. We will not be stopped! It didn't stop us from running the Marine Corps or New York City Marathons shortly after 9/11.

The Boston Marathon will return in 2014 bigger and better than ever and world will be watching. In the mean time, lets catch the sucker responsible for inflicting this pain on our fellow road warriors and their family members!

Our calendar of events is growing. Please check the calendar on a regular basis as it is always changing.

Our first event of the year is on New Years Day at the Dover Buffalo Wild Wings location. This event benefits the Cancer Support Community. Signup now at TriSportsEvents.com. Tech shirts will be given to all registered participates.

This event has been rescheduled for Feb 23, 2013.

All you chocolate lovers will be happy to know that the rescheduled event will have a chocolate theme!

Next up is the Delaware Tech - Terry Campus Alumni Association 5K on Saturday, Nov 17, 2012. This event will take place on the Dover Campus.

Then on Sunday, Oct 21 is the Queen of the Roses 5K Run/Walk in Chestertown, MD.

Up next on Saturday, Oct 15 is the "Just Wing It Thunderbird 5K Run/Walk" to benefit the Townsend Elementary School Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Program.

The Kent County Meals on Wheels program needs your support this Saturday. This program provides thousands of our senior citizens with a meal each day. For some, this is their only meal each day!

The 5K Run/Walk will take place at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. Registration opens at 8 am with the 5K starting at 9 am. Hope to see you there!

Saturday, June 25 - Victoria's 5K Bubble Run/Walk - Middletown, DE.

Benefits: The Victoria Flick's Foundation was established to help special needs children obtain the durable medical equipment necessary to fit the needs of the child when all other resources are exhausted.

Saturday, July 2 - Freedom 5K Run/Walk - Silver Lake Park, Dover, DE.

Awards will be given in 10 year age groups with special awards to the most patriotic male and female participants.

This event benefits the Milford Boys & Girls Club's One Campaign.

The event will feature a 5K Run/Walk and kids races...5 & under-50 yard dash, 6-10 1/4 mile run, and 11-14 1 mile run. 5K starts at 9am and all kids races start at 10;30 at the Delaware State Fairgrounds ice skate rink in Harrington, DE.

There will be FREE entertainment, rides, crafts and games. A talent contest, pony rides, horse show, petting zoo, antique tractors, and refreshments. Bring the family and enjoy Kids Fest at the Fairgrounds.

Our next event is the Heart & Sole 5k Run/Walk this Saturday, April 30 at West Seaford Elementary School, Seaford, DE.

This event benefits the Trinity Foundation with all proceeds toward the American Heart Association.

Saturday, April 16 - The Arc of Delaware 5K Run/Walk - Wild Quail Country Club, Wyoming, DE. Registration opens at 8 am and the 5K starts at 9am. This event benefits The Arc of Delaware.

Saturday, April 30 - The Heart & Sole 5K Run/Walk - West Seaford Elementary School, 511 Sussex Ave, Seaford, DE. Registration opens at 9am and the 5K starts at 10am. This event benefits the Trinity Foundation.

Thursday, May 5 - 24^th Dover Mile - THE FASTEST 1 MILE RACE IN DELAWARE!! - Registration opens at 5:30 in front of Smithers Restaurant on State Street in Dover, DE. There are 4 different events offered for every member of the family. Bring the kids and have fun!! This event benefits the Colonial Rotary community projects

It was noted that the 2010 event raised over $13,000 for the SPCA! Peter would be proud our of efforts!

Laura Gondeck Memorial Fund Drive - Our fund drive is going well but we are still $600 short of our goal. Thanks to everyone that has donated. I still believe we will reach our goal to have Laura's memorial bench in place at Killens Pond State Park by early spring.

Laura Gondeck Memorial
Laura's family and friends are currently seeking donations to have a memorial bench installed at Killens Pond State Park near the site where Laura passed away while running in a 5k event this past October. The bench has to be state approved, installed and will be maintained by the park staff. Some funds have been raised but we're still $1000 short of our goal. All funds raised over and above the required amount will be donated to a local charity designated by Laura's family members. We will keep you updated on how the fund raising effort is going thru periodic email blast.

The 2011 events schedule is still a work in progress. You will notice some annual events with date, location, and time changes.

We have many new events in 2011. Some are posted on our site while others are still being finalized and will be added soon.

The 2010 Championship Series jackets are on order! All Series qualifiers will be notified when they arrive along with when and where the awards/jacket presention will take place. Depending on their arrival, it may happen at the Cupids Chase 5K on Feb 12.

Now that Christmas is behind us, you may be setting new goals for the upcoming year. This event starts and finishes at the Dover Buffalo Wild Wings at 10am and it benefits the Wellness Community of Delaware in support of those affected by cancer. The Share the Holiday Spirit 5K Run/Walk & Holiday Cookie Contest carries a special meaning this year. The event will be held in Memory of our friend and fellow runner Laura Gondeck. Laura loved the holiday season and always looked forward to this 5K event. In honor of Laura, her family and friends will be using this event as a fund raiser for the Elizabeth W. Murphy School.

I hope you will join on Saturday to celebrate Laura's life and to give to a very worthy cause.

Food donations will benefit local food shelters.

Special awards will be given for the best tasting and most decorative holiday cookies!

The next event on our schedule is the Reindeer Stampede on Saturday, Nov 27 at Milfords Millponds Nature Reserve located on Abbott's Mill Road.

Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 - 8am start Gunston Centennial 5K Run/Walk at Gunston Day School - 911 Gunston Road, Centreville, MD. Registration starts at 7am.

Join us after the race for our Centennial Celebration. Events include a classic car show, rummage and used book sale, great food, moon bounce, boat tours on the Corsica, canoeing, and much more. Great fun for all!

Sunday, Oct 3, 2010 - 9am start DGS - Kent for Kids 5K Run/Walk and Pushups for Charity. Registration starts at 8am. Event will be held at Killens Pond State Park located on Killens Pond Road (route 384) in Felton, DE.

Benefits the Delaware Guidance Services for Children and Youth, INC.

This changed recently when Heather, his 25 year old wife was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Needless to say their world was turned upside down and forever changed.

Steven, being a good husband and father, decided to surprise his wife by starting the Race to Erase MS 5K Run/Walk in her honor. So with the support of the running/walking community, this event will be held on Sept 4 (Heather's Birthday) in Chestertown, MD.

Heather response is, " There is no cure for Multiple Sclerosis, all you can do is try to be as healthy as possible and do everything we can to raise money to hopefully one day find a cure. So my husband, started a 5k walk/ run in my hometown for my birthday this year. The Race to Erase MS 5K is intended to help raise money for a cure. I am 25 years old, have been diagnosed with a disease that currently has no cure. Without a cure, I might not live as long as someone else and I may be in a wheelchair when I am 30. I have an amazing supportive husband, a beautiful little girl, and there's not much more I could ask for in life except for a cure so I can live my life to the fullest. Help us raise money for the cure."

Next up is the Miles for Meals 5K Run/Walk on Aug 7, 2010. This event benefits the Meals on Wheels of Kent County.

The 27^th Annual Old New Castle 5 Mile Run & 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, Aug 14 at 8 a.m.

Please note that the Applebee's 5K Run/Walk on June 12 has been canceled, but the benefit pancake breakfast is still on from 8-10 a.m. Call 302-674-3213 for breakfast ticket information.

You need to experience it to fully appreciate all the hard work Radcliffe Creek School puts into the races and the community puts into the festival. Bring the family and enjoy a full day of fun activities.

Saturday, May 8 is the Dover Air Force Base Heritage Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk. This first year event will start and finish at the Air Mobility Command Museum. Bring the family and enjoy the race, exhibits, and 26 refurbished aircraft.

Saturday is the 6^th Trooper Ron 5K at Glasgow Park, Bear, DE. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Officer Chad Spicer Heroes Scholarship. Spicer, of Georgetown, was killed in the line of duty in 2009.

All together between the 5K race folks and the pledge walkers, we had well over 250 participants.

Thanks to all that took the time to remember Peder and to help the SPCA. It was a very emotional and memorable day for Peder's family and all that attended.

This will continue to be a annual event in memory of Peder to benefit the Kent County SPCA. Hope to see all you again next year and bring a friend.

Next up on the TriSports calendar is the Dover Mile on Friday, April 30 and the Trooper Ron Run on Saturday, May 1.

Sunday, April 18 will be the 1^st Annual 5K Run/Walk and 20 Mile Bike for Mom (two separte events) at Wilmer Park in Chestertown, MD.

This will be our last event at Silver Lake until the Freedom 5K on July 3.

Next up is the ARC 5K on April 17 at Wild Quail Country Club in West Dover. This event benefits children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

A new event that was just added is the 5K Run/Walk and 20 Mile Bike Ride for Mom (two seperate events)on April 18. This event benefits the Lance Armstrong and Breast Cancer Awareness Foundations and will be held at Wilmer Park in Chestertown, MD.

Our next event is the Shamrock Scramble on March 20. It will take place at Silver Lake Park in Dover at 10 AM.

Congratulations to local runners Michael Gondeck (5:09:37) and Linda Keyser (5:23:34) for completing the tough B&A Trail Marathon at Severna Park, MD.

I haven't given up, this event will be held!!! Pending approval from Dover Parks & Recreation and a little cooperation from the weather, we plan to run the event next Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 10 AM. Stay tuned, I'll keep you posted on this blog.

We'll only reschedule if Dover PD tells me we cannot have the event. Stay tuned to this blog for future up dates.

Also, the Shamrock 5K has been moved to March 20, 2010. Same time and place.

For those of you that missed it, the Bricks Multisport Expo on Wednesday night was a huge success! Good job Jess and Chris!
